The 2011 Ultra4 Torchmate Reno Stampede takes place in the heart of Reno, Nevada, this Saturday, September 10. In its second year, this difficult race traverses 100,000 acres of the toughest terrain that Nevada has to offer.
The event will kick off with the drivers welcome party Weds night. Pre-running begins Thursday with media day at the track. Friday starts bright and early with Ultra4 Time trials, followed by Tech inspection/contingency and the Trade show. Race action starts at 10:00am on Saturday and ends at 6:00pm.

The CNC4x4 12th Annual Beach Bash is this weekend, September 9-11, 2011. Everything from stock rigs to built trail rigs are welcomed to Freeman Park, at the north end of Carolina Beach.
There is a permit required - $20 for the day, or $100 for an annual pass, credit card or cash accepted at the park entrance. Annual passes must be purchased at local shops. Porta-johns are available but there are no showers or changing rooms. There is a public beach access that has showers on Sandpiper Lane, about 8 blocks south of the entrance to the Park. Lifeguards are on duty, as well as police to keep things safe.

Saturday, September 10 is Gulches Got Talent at Gulches ORV Park!
It all starts at 11:00am and the weather looks great with highs the low 80's. 98% of the park will be available for trail riding.
Anyone who thinks they can put on a show on 3D, Skinny Pedal Ridge and TestosterRoad, get in touch with Skip (864 449 5698) and be there by 10:00am.
$5.00 from every ballot cast goes to the top two drivers.

The Carolina Trail Blazers 40th Anniversary Fun Caravan will host field games, an obstacle course, RTI ramp and trail rides this Saturday, September 10, starting around 11am. CTB will also host the SFWDA 3rd Quarter Meeting on Saturday morning from 9am to 10am. Dinner will be served, at 7pm, by Chris Cagle and his crew from the Eldorado Outpost. The CTB meeting will take place at 8pm, followed by the trophy presentation and the RAFFLE. There will be a night ride from 10pm until.
The Fun Caravan has a new location for this year, the site of the UHWARRIE OFF ROAD TRAINING CENTER. You do NOT have to be a CTB or SFWDA member to attend, this event is open to everyone!

Big Dogs Offroad Fall Jamboree in Winchester, Virginia, is September 8-11. There will be an RTI ramp, obstacle course, mud pit, turtle race, raffle, moon bounce for the kids and plenty of trail to ride. This private wooded campground has many amenities, inculding swimming, canoeing, 2 caves, ATV and bike trails, rock climbing and rappelling.

A car show at Hooters in Winston-Salem, NC, this Saturday will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. There will be cars, motorcycles and 4x4s on display, a donation box and a 50/50 raffle sponsored by Skyjacker and other vendors.

The September Forest Service Workday at Uwharrie National Forest is September 17. The focus will be on finishing some of the sites that did not get completed at the June work day. Projects include: sections of guardrail to install, rolling dips need their tail ditches cleaned out, some areas need straw/hay bales, some split rail fencing to install, repair of corduroy crossing, some areas to bust up some bedrock and some areas to armor with rock. Meet at the Uwharrie Hunt Camp at 9 am and plan to work until about 2 or 2:30 pm. Sites, crews and equipment will be assigned at the Hunt Camp meeting.
If you plan to attend, contact your club or post up in the Work Day thread. A good estimate of how many people and what equipment will be available is critical to laying out the work plan. For camping arrangements, please contact Janet Becker at Arrowhead Campground at uwharriehost@hotmail.com.
