We have a 91 chevy beauville 3/4 ton van. We have a new hauler now so we dont use it much anymore. I am wondering how much trouble it would be and what parts would be needed to convert this van to 4x4 (if its even possible). Would I need front and rear axles, suspension, t/case and tranny out of a 4x4 chevy 3/4 ton truck? How much fabricating would have to be done? I didnt find too much searching google so if anyone knows a good website with tips and info on this conversion that would be awesome too! Thanks.

It's possible, but it's a lot of work.

If I remember right, that van style was of unibody construction, thus making the mounting of the front suspension somewhat of a challenge (and still maintain structural integrety)

It's been a long time since I have seen how Quigley ( www.quigley4x4.com ) was doing it on that body, but they did build a few of them.

The newer body ('96-newer) style lends itself to an easier conversion, but there is still an ass load of fab involved. It will require the cutting/removal of the main crossmember under the engine and fabrication of another X-member further forward on the frame. (all this to clear the axle and allow suspension movement)

It's all possible, how much time and $$$ you willing to throw at it ?
