I am hopefully going to slip some gears in my rig sometime soon :)

I will be gearing to 5.29s. Is a master install kit needed or can I just get the ring and pinion and reuse the existing guts? I have a spare full set of axles that I plan to use the thirds out of. The axles are in really good shape.

Vehicle is an FJ60 that doesn't see any real road time and gets to ride on a trailer when ever it leaves the yard.

I would replace pinion bearings at a minimum, but highly recommend replacing everything so you know what you have and there is no question in your mind of the condition of the bearings. I prefer Nitro Gears in toyota diffs. Not to familiar with the sierra gear stuff (I believe it is a west coast differentials brand) Give the sales guys at East Coast Gear supply a call and I bet the can set you up with nitro gear install kits and oem Koyo bearings for the for very close in price. And you are keeping your business local then!!!

I will probably call tomorrow and see. Done business with ECGS in the past but the savings was enough to pay attention.

I would rather keep it local and part of the NC4x4 community.

ive been running trail gears gears for years never had any issue and they are cheep i would recomend going ahead and gettng all new berrings just to save headaches down the road. :driver:
