Just scored a 2004 6.0 - Complete, as I get to pull the motor and get all the goodies/harness/ecm. I currently run a 350 Tbi/700r4 in a CJ7. What issues will I have besides wiring, VATS, fuel pressure difference ,bolt pattern in the flywheel, different exhaust and possibly it having electric throttle? I am prepared for those. I hear they are a little wider, but does anyone have actual dimension from motor CL to edge of head? Just fishing at this point. I have read up a little, but I just was told this was available today for a good price and snatched it up.:huggy:
Got any advice as to who do the ecm flash?

Promised to Aaron about 8 months ago. I have been looking a looooong time.

Chuckman.. you've got it nailed.. The flexplate thing is no biggie with a $35 spacer and another $30 in bolts from GM. The electronic throttle blows, start looking for a cable-pull unit. :)
The oil pan is really deep as well, but it's not much more than the '85 Blazer engine's I have now.
Jim's is also doing my harness and PCM. www.portfuel.com

If you haven't already been, go to LS1tech.com and search in their hybrids and coversions section.

There are many many companies that can handle the programming for you (nelson's performance for one, though pricey).

You might could find someone that will swap intakes with you from an 02 or older intake & cable throttle body, but then you might need an 02 ecm? Not sure on that one.

Mind if I ask where you got it from and how much? PM if you like!

You don't have to swap intakes to change the TB to a cable pull TB from a truck.. LS1/6 intake swaps are involved, and the truck intake actually flows better than the LS1.

You will need a PCM, the service # 12200411 is the one you want.. It's used on f-bodies, vettes, and some trucks. (Hint: it's cheaper when you buy one for a truck). Got mine off ebay for $50 shipped, from an '01 silverado.

I looked into all the harness companies, and if their harness work was close to Jim's in price, the PCM tuning was ALOT more. Jim is also very friendly, not saying the other guys aren't.

dang, its electric throttle...
man, its a PITA to pull this stuff off a van- no easy way to do it. we stripped the whole top end off just to be sure there was no damage to the plastic stuff/coils/ fuel rail.
