I have a 64 Ford Pickup. It has a 300 inline 6 and a three speed trans. Engine runs fine but can't get it to really move. I put in in first and it kinda hesitates to move but then just stalls out. Problems with the clutch, pressure plate etc? But on the other hand I have a 350 with a three speed and was wondering if this would be an easy conversion. I have the universal motor mounts from jc whitney and was thinkin of choppin the drive shafts (chevy to ford diff). Good idea? Anyone ever do this or have experience?

Built Ford tough, with Chevy stuff huh?

Has it been sitting long? Brakes may be rusted( kinda like welded) to the drums. Since on a 64 you have 4 of them, might wanna check that.

To do that swap you will have to have the engine mounts, ( you already have) and tranny mount which you can make pretty easy. Different radiator. If you use a floor shifter the linkage issues will be simpler, mostly just cutting the floor. Wiring isn't much of an issue as long as you mark all your existing wires as you disconnect them.
