Here lately when I get in the truck to leave for work, I’ll pull out on to highway and it seems as soon as the truck is hitting 4th gear it wants to go into what seems like a “limp mode” it’s an 02 f250 with the 7.3 in it, 197k miles automatic. It’s done it a few times, when it does it I just pull off the road let it idle a minute then continue down the road without issue. Now when I pull off it does sound like it’s idling a little rough but clears right up then no issue. It only seems to do it first thing in the morning as well after sitting over night…..only modifications I’ve done are a 4” turbo back exhaust and a hydra chip and I currently run it on a 60hp setting, but I’ve been doing so for a few months now without issue, not to say that it couldn’t still be related. Any ideas what I should be looking for here?
