700R4 Leak?

My 1990 4wd Suburban seems to have a "leak" that allows fluid to leak into the t-case from the tranny. Opened the tcase and several cups of fluid poured out. This has happened a couple of times. I haven't had the truck long enough to know how long this has been going on or what happens if you just drive and leave it alone. It does not seem to leak onto the ground anywhere. Obviously this is not ideal but if I leave it alone will the fluid levels equalize and be OK as long as it is not leaking out of the tranny/t-case onto the ground? Is there anywhere else it could be going? Will extra fluid damage the t-case? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Yea the seal at the back of the transmission goes bad and allows the fluid into the tcase. Which means the tcase is always overfilled. It prolly won't do any damage to the tcase tho

The dodges are real bad about leaking into the tcase from the trans.

All you got to do is pull the tcase and change the seal on the back of the trans and silicone it back up and install it

Thanks! Is this a common problem with this tranny? Is there anywhere else the fluid is likely to go out eventually like a vent or vacume line somewhere?
