Know this is not a 4x4 but had to show it off. Just purchased about a month ago. So what it is ......
1976 Toyota shortbed
20r engine
69,000 original miles
Nothing on the truck has ever been changed it is just the way it was when it rolled off assembly line.
So the plan reundercoat the frame and wheel wells, take off stripe on the side, rhinoline the bed, fix the few small rust holes under the doors, repaint and drive the wheels off it. Let me know what you think.

nice man. i would love to have that. it has to get killer gas milage. it the inside looks great!

interior

you guys are right interior is in great shape and like i said all original all the way down to the factory am radio. Got a little body work left to do, and finish getting stripe off drivers side, then off to the paint booth.

COOL!

Man that thing is awesome.
Personally, I think you should have left the stripe, it really went a long way with the "original" look.
A full restore and that thing could be really bling.

A little surprised it's a 22r, I thought 20r was common until '78?

Sorry miss type is 20r and stripe had to go before repainting will put some sort of stripe back

Id put the stock wheels back on....they look way better

Old wheels and hub caps are just to old man looking for me. But thanks for the input.

And then finally something like this appears and puts an end to evryone calling mid 80s toyotas second gen. There were also 60s model toys shipped to the US. Very square lookin with 4 headlights. Really kool truck you have. I'm guessing, axles and 22re?

you talking about the toyota stout?

80s were the 2nd gen of 4x4s.
(at least that came from factory 4x4).

So, - no end.:flipoff2:

ok guys sold the chrome wheels stock wheels back on for now. Had a guy that wanted them more than me so let them go. Driver's side stripe is off and body work is almost done. Soon be ready to paint.

Are ya keeping the beautiful original Smurf color?

color

Yes keeping the smurf blue because I am only painting outside don't want inside cab to look different due to the fact I have some interest from some toyota dealers who want it if I decide to sell it. They want it original so smurf stays.

Ok guys here it is all finished changed the wheels out. It has been painted repinstripped and seat was recovered. Thanks to Ben and the guys at Maaco of Hickory great job on the paint.
