Just by the pics I seen I would say you got the cleanest(little to no rust) cj in VA :) . Whats your plans for it? Lift, tires, Axles? What kinda wheelin are you into or is more of a DD? I like seeing these jeeps fixed good luck with your build.

yea well it dose have a fiberglass body on it and as far as a lift and tires and axles I want to do some black rims of some sort and 33'' to 35'' BFG all terrain tires and I have a set if axles for it a GM 14 bolt for the rear 8 lug and a 8 lug dana 44 for the front gonna be a all disc brake set up and as far as rust the frame has some in the rear where it has the hump over the axle on the bottom side of that but that is it

great looking 5! the 14 bolt is gonna be wayyyyy overkill for 33s or 35s and will need lots of shaving not to drag on everything

maybe and maybe not. I might do a spring over or a 4" to 6" lift. and I use it more as a summer ride on the road and just crusing around and haveing fun. and I am not doing the gm 14 bolt swap anymore and I am not doing the dana44 front axles swap eather but I still am changeing the gauges and doing some other stuff

so I have bought some widetrack axles that came out of a 84 cj7 and now I got to rebuild them and put one pice axles in the rear one before puting them in

here is what I have gotten done since my last update I put the wiper motor on the wiper motor cover on vin plate on all the gauges and the dash pad and I put jeep TJ mirrors on it.

Nice looking 5, I would do something about the side pipes. They will get hung on everything and will burn your leg...

How you route the exhaust I have this same setup on my 5 ? Amc 360 is what I'm running for a motor if that helps. Sorry to jack the thread this is a good looking 5

I have a 360 v8 in mine to and the the exhaust just comes off the stock manifold and come down inside the frame and then thay exit to the outside of the frame right in front of the skid plate but those pipes were made for a 75 and older cj5 with the open frame

Thanks I'll look into it

Prob as I get a little further along with my build I will have more man. Where are you located? I noticed you bought the jeep in va beach or something I'm not far from there

im in rocky mount,NC it is like and hour and something to VA beach I bought the jeep out of VA beach from a guy that had to sell it beacuse he was moveing to CA and has one rust spot on the frame and I am going to fix that before I get it painted whenever that is theirs alot more to do to it before I get it painted

Nice man. I'm kind of the opposite I bought mine in wake forrest NC and there's just barely a little surface rust but the po sprayed it with some rustolium and it's working for now so when I paint mine it should be fine. It's one of the cleanest cj's I have ever seen. I know where rocky mt is. Maybe sometime we can get together and check out each others 5's

alright. yea that sounds good. and I am in the middle of putting a power steering setup on mine I had laying around the house from a older full size cherokee cheif that I scraped awhile back

getting a camaro gear box now and hopeing it is good because the one I put on from the other jeep was not any good it licks like crazy

baby came on the 29th of december at 9 pounds and 10oz been busy trying to get my dodge on the road for a DD that I had not had time or the money to mess with this right now but come march if it is warm I will have it out again
