Can someone help me with this problem I'm have with my drivers front caliper ? It is a 78 f250 Dana 44 with dual piston calipers. The support key and spring keeps somehow falling out while I'm driving ! I have put two in so far . I got the new set from autozone and the support springs looked cheap. Any help will be appreciated .

Looks like this but with dual pistons.

Are you putting the bolt in that holds it in place?

I had a loose one and I had to add a thick washer under the bolt I ground down to fit the curved area of the key. I have also added a shim to the support spring to tightened it up as well. Had a caliper that would rattle and make a terrible noise. I have never had a key fall out though

Must be a Ford thing....the 79 Dana 60 in my Silverado has the same problem! Driver's side too. I ordered some new supports, springs, and bolts from Rock Auto and they're holding up alright for now. I just don't like how much smaller the caliper is than the opening in the caliper bracket. The passenger's side is tight, but I could probably pull the driver's side out by hand.

No it's got a standard bolt in it . Can you post a pic of what bolt is suppose to be in it ?come to think of it neither side does !

In case you run across it, the original bolt has a 9/16" head on it but that NAPA bolt with the allen head should work. I'm for just putting a washer on what you got and be done with it.

Funny I've never had this issue? I even ran without the bolt for 200k+ on a truck with no issues for the old one was broke off. It was 2wd single cal though?

New one on me...
