I want to replace the clutches in my 8.8 limited slip axle it is basically open right now they are so worn out.

My question is can I pull my carrier with having issues when reassembling. Or if I pull the carrier do I have to have it reshimmed?

I know I will have to mark everything and put it back exactly how I pulled it apart. Will this work to allow me to this?

On just a straight in and out with the same carrier you should be fine with the factory set shim packs....just remember which side they were from and you should be gold.

I have done a few in Mustangs over the years

yep in stock, and as said the carrier shims on the outside with 1 factory shim per side if its a factory set up. but those back the way they came. mark the bearing caps for both left and right and up and down. and you won't have any problems. use a limited slip additive when you refill diff, also soak the clutches in gear oil and additve prior to installing.

Sent pm to CPerry.

Have done some reading on adding one disc per side and it does sound like a good idea.

Has anyone ran into trouble with adding the extra disc?
