8.8 locker

This may be a dumb question but to lock a rear 8.8 do I have to do a c-clip eliminator? Are there ways around this? I don't want to weld the spider gears.

The only way you absolutely have to do the c-clip eliminator is if you wanted to go with a full spool. Like the others said any other locker works without the eliminator.
 
I'm running a Detroit locker in mine with factory shafts in a 8.8 from an f150. Was always told the carriers were weak so went with a full case locker
 
Spool requires c-clip elim. Which we can make you a good deal on C-clip elim kit and have plenty in stock. All other lockers are designed for c-clips
 
Man the C-clips were a PITA to remove with the Lock Rite in my 8.8!!!

Yes. Be sure you have everything ready to put together before you put the clips in. Taking them out sux!

I made a special skinny 'super magnet' that helped a little
