Ok here is what I have.

85 J10 Longbed. 42k original miles with all original receipts and papers. I am the second owner and the original owner is local.

360/727/swapped 208
Motor: Engle custom grind cam, new lifters, Edelbrock intake and 1406 carb, HEI distributor with new summit wires, double roller timing chain, matched cam and distributor gear set from bulltear, new plugs, belts, and all new fluids. New True dual exhaust.

Axles: 81 J20 3/4 tons. 4.10 gears, all new brakes throughout, new bearings, seals, etc.
8400#GVW J20 leaf springs have been rebuilt with poly bushings.
All this stuff has about 100 miles on it right now.

No rust at all other than some spots on the surface. Bed is perfect. Inderneath is spotless. Original paint but I will be repainting it. Interior looks brand new. I mean brand new.
Tires are 10 ply load E with plenty of tread left rolling on stock wheels. All new fluids in the tranny, tcase, axles, etcwith about 100 miles on this as well..

Anyone have a guess at what it may be worth?

Not sure but will give you 2K and some Jeep parts if you like.

WHat is it with lowball bs offers these days. Im not selling it im just wondering what its worth and I know its worth a lot more than 2k and "some jeep parts." I have seen waggys for 4k that arent even in the ballpark condition of this truck.

doesnt seem to be that lowball to me. Ive seen some VERY nice j10s go for 2-4 grand.

What is it with people asking what their shit's worth, then getting mad at the responses? Did you really expect serious answers anyway? People's opinions of what it's worth are going to vary wildly. Besides, if you're not selling it, why does it matter? If you want to know what it's worth, put it on ebay. If you want to sell it here, then determine what you need to get out of it, and price it a little higher so you have room to bargain. You'll know soon enough whether or not anybody else thinks it's worth that much.

This is about as serious as I can get. With the economy down, people aren't buying like they used to, but a LOT of people are selling out. This drives the prices down. Besides, we really don't know that much about it without looking at it and knowing what all you've put in it. What does it matter what a bunch of people think about it anyway? Bragging rights?

You have to understand, every time I see one of these, it looks like a thinly disguised "feeler" ad, and those just get under my skin. Ebay is the place for auctions. Sorry for blowing up, but this just got my ire up today. I've been sick, maybe that's it.

this should get interesting
Nothing about it will get intresting:flipoff2:. Halftrack, I might still need the grill. I dont know what to do yet.. I have the razor I bought from you guys a while back so I might just stick with that just for money reasons!
Catfish: WHo got mad? I have sold many parts so im not asking for selling lesson 101. Hope you feel better after that venting. I gave you a golf clap!!!:flipoff2:
I know on ebay this thing is worth more than 2k. easily and also there is a big difference in 2k and 4k. Should have known better to ask you cheap skates here:flipoff2: I know because I am one myself. I am just asking so I can decide if I want to put anymore money into it.

Thanks for the clap. Sorry you caught the brunt of my wrath, I just hate seeing these "what's it worth" threads. I see prices vary more than a couple thousand dollars, often times. Then a couple of weeks later, the vehicle shows up in the FS area, with the highest price tacked to it. You're right, many of us here are cheap bastards. Especially us Sammi guys. That's another attitude that can bug me too, but that's another rant.

I understand your reasoning better now, and it kinda makes sense. However, here's my input. How much more are you going to have to put into it for you to be happy with it? I never get into a project expecting to make money, or even wash if/when I sell it. If I do, then that's a bonus! But if I don't, then hopefully the joy I got out of the project more than makes up for the difference in value between what I've got in it and what I got for it.

My opinion is to keep throwing money and time at it until you're happy. If you can see you're probably never going to be happy with it, get out of it now. After a point, the returns on your investments will become less and less. It's like watching a $30,000 rig and a $60,000 rig both sell for $15,000. KnowhutImean? Oh well. Hopefully this lent some light on your situation. No hard feelings?

Do also realize that with no pics or seeing it in person, its real hard to give any type of price. Just remember, Ive got a running J Truck sold to me, with part of the frame being repaired with wood. Was suppose to be a great truck. Not saying that yours isn't what you say, but others may not know you. Just a thought man.

fwiw Ive dealt with chad before and he is a straight forward guy, prone to throwing too much into a dream and selling out ::flipoff2::

I would guess in the 2-4K range.
That being said, I have seen sweet FSJ's that can't sell unless they are being given away. This one is unbelievable. James was willing to make a sweet deal, but I couldn't pull the trigger.

Once mine is painted it will be as nice as the one pictured in not cleaner. My interior is still all original with no cracks, tears, or anything. Just wondering. Not asking to know what to sell it for just asking. And yes I will admit to what Sky said, it seems everytime I get close to finishing a project wheeler, something else comes up that is much more important. Hopefully, one day that will change..

I have actually seen the wooden frame repair when I was there last time. Classic.

I had a really nice waggy i traded to a board member. Inside was really nice and paint was really nice and had low miles. After the dust settled i ended up getting about 5k out of the truck. I would say if yours is MINT with Fresh paint you could get maybe 4-5 but with the way cash is......in this market right now it would be a 3-3.5k truck.
