okay guys here is the deal

I got the ax-15 installed in my brother-in-laws XJ today

well he is so excited he goes out and buys everything needed for a tune-up

no problem needs to be done

we find out the starter is bad, replaced it

thing is there is no transfer case bolted on yet

and there is a bunch of vacumn lines not connected that goes on the np231

he is trying to crank it, and it will not start just turns over and over

Am I right in thinking that the vacumn lines being disconnected could be the reason it is not starting?

he was ready to buy a coil

any ideas before he blows all his money looking for a quick fix

oh yeah forgot to mention he is 17 and hardheaded

Plug the sensor in on the top of the bellhousing.

Was it running before all the new stuff was put on? If so then I would look at what all you did to it for the tune up.

it had a busted BA-10 and had been sitting for a year, with no transmission in it

I have known the Jeep for years and always ran good

i think there is a crank position sensor on some of them, on hte backside of hte motor at the bellhousin, so u might try that. otherwise check all the normal stuff, like if its gettin fuel and fire... if no fire, could be anything in the ignition and/or sensors; if no fuel, check to make sure the pump is working

yep we never hooked up the crank position sensor

I will post up when we get it hooked up

hooked up the CPS and it fired right up

That CPS causes a lot of problems for so many people.
