hey I drive a 1989 toyota short bed standard cab im needing some help on getting a list of parts i need for this swap. i've only had the truck since May so i just got into 4wheelin. so if anyone could give me any tips or suggestions i would appriciate it.

do a whole bunch of research and plan for the unexpected...are you going to be doing the work or are you going to have a shop do it? can you weld and fabricate or do you have people helping you who can? it is quit and undertaking if you dont know what your doing so be sure you are up to the task....check out marlin crawler, trail gear, all pro and a few others for kits that come with most of what you will need.

I have a buddy with an 89 thats sas'd on 37's, elocker, he's looking to get a stock excab (his is single), just trade him!

tacoma 87 i know a guy who is going to do this for me i was just seeing if there was a cheeper way do it and get the same flex and reliability with out spending 2 grand or more.
also do i need to change gear raio or can i keep the stock 4.80 gears.

have you confirmed you have the 4.88s stock? They were quite a rare set from the factory. More than likely you have 4.56 or 4.10, If you do have the 4.88s they should be alright up to 33s, but anything bigger and you'll wish you had 5.29s.

If you need any specific help let me know. A good friend of mine sells the SAS kits from trail-gear. I can also do any welding that you might need.

two of my friends have done theirs with the trail-gear kit and it's a real nice set up. we have also done the rears up front and made the front bar our self on some of our wheelin trucks. the rears up front flex preety good
