9" Ford Ratios

My CJ5 has 5.38 gears in it now. If I would go to a 9" ford rear, the closest ratio I can get for the 9" is a 5.43. This ratio, however, isnt available for a Dana 27 (The front!)

For off road use, is this enough of a difference to matter?

It should be fine offroad. Guy in our club has 5.43 9in and 5.38 60.

I would worry about the front. You may be ok if you leave it open but if locked it would probally fail

Was jus ponderin this, since I have four 9" housings with the floater ends on em. I can get all the good axles I want, and get them recut

Is that something new? They told Jason they did not have one about 3-4 months ago, he got the 5.43. Probably had it all along.

That ratio doesnt show up on our list of Ratios we use in NASCAR. So might be custom stuff.
