94 4l60e into 95 truck?

found this while hunting for info, can anyone confirm/deny/help interpret the following? I mean, I understand about the TCC PMW and the 95 having an extra solenoid, just trying to figure out if can just swap out the valve bodies or what to make it work?

The valvebody in 95 is different. You could switch the valve bodys though. or maybe just the harness. I have a 96-99 60e in mine.

I know the computers are both 7427's in 94 and 95.. not sure if it matters or not.

The difference is in the valve body. In trucks for 1995 they added Pulse Width Modulation to the Torque converter clutch. PWM TCC. Doing this added an additional solenoid to the valve body and a 13th pin to the wiring. Personally speaking PWM TCC is a pain in the rear. PWM TCC also changed the programming in the Memcal. All you have to do is find the same calibration for a 1995 truck that had the same engine, gearing, etc.

Ricky, do you have the 7427 PCM ? If so it CAN be programmed/chipped to run the 4l60e, you will have to repin a few wires in the harness to match what a 4l60e harness would be, or cut/solder etc.. Or you can remap them in the chip/tune... This address the few items you have mentioned..

What are you putting this behind again ?

putting it behind the 350 i just built in my 95 Z71, I wanted to do 1 ton but this is a smokin good deal on a rebuilt tranny so I cant pass it up.

main issue is 94 to 95 difference was the PWM TCC and extra solinoid and the 95 has one extra pin in the harness i believe.

I would really prefer not to reprogram the truck since i just paid for a tune for the new engine.

You know if its possible to swap internals? I've seen several people mention it in my reasearch but no definites . . . . .

Thanks

How do i find out what PCM I have?

I am in kind of a similar situation. 1993 Vortec with a 1997 4L60E in my YJ. Everything works except the torque converter does not lock up. I talked on the phone to Troy at Affordable Transmissions in Charlotte and he said he can make it work. I haven't taken it to him yet, but as soon as I replace my broken motor mount, I plan on giving him a try.

Yea I've had Troy rebuild the 700r4 in Kevins K5 for me, he's a cool guy to deal with.

As far as the conversion, I guess I'm bout to find out cause I bought the 94. I'm just gonna set both trannys side by side pop open the valve bodies and see what's different and try and swap it over, If I get it to work I'll let you know, might save you some $$ to do it yourself, although like I said Troy seems to know his stuff.

Yes, please let me know what you find out. I am still about a week or so away from taking it in for the tranny as I need to replace that broken motor mount, but if I could get a definitive answer on what the solution is, I'd be willing to try to do it myself.
