So I picked this up last year and never got around to looking into it. I needed a break on the race jeep a couple weekends ago and decided to dig into the tcase. Main reason was the shifter was on wrong and didn't seem to shift right. I thought something was broke in it. I pulled the 231 down to find no metal in and an good pink fluid with very few shavings on the magnet. I decided to fire it up to see if the planetaries were moving. Low and behold they did. So now I'm kind of wondering. The truck would not go forward or backward but the transmission is turning. I would think that if the transmisison was the issue it would move in in one gear at least. Is it possible the torque converter is the issue? Looking for input on what to check and how to do it. This is my first foray into a bad auto.

Any chance the torque converter bolts have fallen out? I have seen this happen, where the converter gets enough movement to move the drivetrain, but not the vehicle underload.

I guess anything is possible. I was wondering about the torque converter it's self.
