OK i got a 94 5speed zj and im looking for gears for my axles.
it has 355 in it now i want 410s or even locking 373s.
Where can i find the gear sets or what axles can i bolt in to get what im looking for.

From my understanding i have cv front axle dana 30 i Dont think it is gonna take what i do with the truck. what other dana 30s fit under there with lil to no mods

A direct bolt in would be the rear Dana 44a from a 96 or newer ZJ, all these axles came stock with 373s. That is about your only direct bolt in option for the rear with a better ratio. Dana 30s from any XJ will also bolt directly up but I am not sure of ratios. To get 410s you are going to have to swap in a different axle like a ford 8.8, but that is not a direct bolt in.

what about for the front.

The rear i have a explorer axle with 373s i just dont have the money to buy the swap moutning kit right now.

rear xj are left springs not coils so that kinda counts them out as well.

my $.02- save your cash to get the swap brackets for the 8.8-the d44a is known for a weak aluminum centersection.
for d30's for the front, most any u-joint style front will be stronger-alot of zj's came factory with them, the high-pinion d30's from earlier cherokees are among the strongest housings & ring & pinions, but most were vacuum disconnects-a 1 piece axle swap from a later 30 will fix that weakness.

are the fronts still bolt in. Im sure i can fit the 8.8 in there with out many problems.

the dana 30 from a xj will directly bolt up. the 8.8 really isnt bad to mount up. you either need to get the kit or save a few bucks and buy them individually. if i recall correctly theres been a couple 8.8's already set up to bolt into a zj. just need to look around.

swapping axles

I'm sure the axles from a tj bolt directly in and the 2.5 liter tj's had 4.10 gears the bad part is the front is low pinion which makes the super shitty 30/35 combo even shittier and the 44a is terrible imo junk the 30/35 ASAP don't waste a dime on them save $ for a decent axle swap hope I helped ps I have a buddy with the tj 4.10 axles that might be available soon

I'm sure the axles from a tj bolt directly in.......
You sure about that?
Front TJ axle will bolt in, the rear will not. Brackets are completely different.......
Don't buy a set of TJ axles with 4.10s unless you just want the front.......the rear is worthless.
Buy a ZJ install kit from ECGS and swap some parts in your D30 and you should be fine depending on wheeling style, etc.

I go mudding and offroad trails mostly nothing here to climb at the coast...

My problem is finding axles here i got a 8.8 out of a explorer. Im really more worried about the front then anything else.

prolly the biggest tire i will ever run is gonna be a 35 but that isnt gonna be for a while.

Here is the last xj i built. 383sbc tubro 350/np203 case with 456 axles 12boltrear,14bolt front.
