94YJ 2.5 high idle?

Does anyone know what would cause a high idle on a 2.5? The daughter's YJ is idles at close to 2K. There is what looks like an idle adjustment screw on it, but it is back down all the way.

X2 on the IAC. You may try to get a little more use out of it by removing it and cleaning it before you replace it.
 
the tps can hang up with mud, mine will do that occassionaly.

dont start turning screws, its a vac leak or sensor malfunction.

x3 on the IAC motor cleaning.
 
OK, what is the IAC. Is that the plug opposite of the TPS.

Yeah it is opposite the TPS or next to it like a 4.0(its been awhile since I worked on a 2.5)
 
Ray, this thing has a "whistle from hell" while idle that I have not been able to track down. I think you may be onto something with leaking intake gasket. Thanks!!

While you're at it, check for broken mounting bolts. 2.5's are notorious for that.
 
Update... New intake gasket solved the problem. The Jeep idles like new now and runs great!! And the irrritating whistle is gone. Thanks Ray!
