Seen a for sale add today 96 tacoma 4cyl reg cab 4x4 $2600 but says needs power steering pump. Would this be hard to change? Expensive? Anything else I should be worried about?

they have a habit of eating steering racks, thats more likely the problem. The pump is fairly easy to change

Yeah the power steering pump isn't too bad. I've got a '96 Taco as well and I'm on my 3rd one. However as Taylor mentioned, if it's been ran dry it will usually eat up the rack as well. I'm on my 2nd steering rack. Those are a little harder to change because of the hard lines having to be pressed on.
