does anyone know of any other leafs springs i could use on my xj to give a 2" lift? maybe S10 or grand cherokee? need to know what year model and if i need to pull out a link or not!

Grands are coil sprung in the rear. You can add s-10 leafs to make a thicker pack or a bastard pack, that normally adds a little more depending how many you add.

thx to all im trying to get rid of these old leafs..they have no flex or curve they are flat

pk so i cant search for forums on that site without paying a membership so is there any other suggestions? just wanna replace my leaf springs with and S10 pack....anyone know what year S10 fits a 96 XJ

You can search without paying, just not without being a member.
If you've got an XJ it will be WELL worth the 5 freakin' minutes it takes to sign up.

x2! You have to regester and get a username is all you have to do. In a nutshell people are using dakota and s10 leafs with the xj main leaf.

93 s10 4x4 springs, I think

I was looking at your post and it sounded real familiar.
I wanted to swap out my rear springs on my 96, and be able to move the axle back. I had heard about switching the stock springs around backwards and it moving the axle back about 6 - 8 inches. I had a set of springs out of a s10 project (I believe it was a 93 or 94) The springs worked great for moving the axle back 3 inches. I also had to use the rear driveshaft out of the s10, just changed out the yoke with the xj yoke. The problem I had was the length of the springs were longer and had to cut out behind the shackles. Also they collapsed more than I expected, so I took out the bottom two leafs and installed some add a leafs I had laying around, but I think could have used the original bottom leaf.
Still sagged. Took the stock front coil and cut 1 and 1/2 coils out of it, and made a cup for them to sit in out of some two piece rims for a go cart. Bolted the cup to the u-bolts and wedged them on the bumps on the frame. It moved everything enough to run 35s with minimal heigth. Im trying to keep it low. I haven't had a chance to try it on some trails, still have to button up my shock mounts.
Hope this has been some help.
