96 ZJ tansmission leaking

It's leaking where it mounts up with the t-case through a little drain hole. What do you guys think? Thanks!

there is 2 seals that need to be replaced. the one at the back of the trans and the front seal on the t-case

Drive it into the nearest tree and claim insurance on it..... sorry, I just hate these transmission.

If it has the 42re ya gonna have problems out of it all the way around ive replaced 2 in 3 years, not sure what else you can put in it but maybe someone on here can help out? I hear a 46rh fits and is better but not sure really!~?

they only put those in the first half of the '93 production year. That's what was in my Green one. Still wish I had rebuilt that Jeep after the deer hit it.

I went back to a 42re just because I wanted to get it inspected.

so everyone thinks this guy should do a tranny swap because a $3 seal is leaking.
i have over 200k on my 42re and up till 140k it was pulling a 18ft bayliner every summer . any auto tranny is junk if you dont take care of it!

No, not true! don't misconstrue my words. I flat out said, Drive it into a tree.

I've had to deal with 4 of those trannys in different ZJ's, and my impression of them remains the same.

i see 1 or 2 a week, just replace both seals and it will be fine.
