97 Jeep cherokee transmission rebuild

My wife's dd cherokee auto transmission is slipping and on the way out anyone rebuild these for a good price and has anyone made them tougher more or less bullet proof?
Any advice would be helpful.
 
Look for transman here, in Raleigh I believe.

What is your average charge to rebuild an AW4 if its out of the vehicle. I part out XJs, and am always having customers asking me about where to get their trans rebuilt. Id love to be able to direct them to a reputable shop.
