Ok, I have always liked the idea of having a 1" body lift on a wrangler.. it makes mud clean up a lot eaiser.. So my question is who has done one on a TJ?

How Hard is it?

What were some hang ups?

Any thoughts on it for someone who has never done a body lift before?

Not too hard. The rear crossmember bolts are the hardest to get to. If you add a 1" motor mount lift at the same time it makes it a little easier. For my daystar bl we had to widen (waller out) the body mounts near the front of the cab on both sides so have a good file on hand.

1 inch body lift was one of the first things I did a couple of years ago. I did it myself, not a big deal at all. I would get the body lift that replaces the stock pucks and not sit on top of the stock pucks.

I just did the JKS 1.25 body lift and budget motor mount lift at the same time last month. Body lift was easier than I expected but I did have a set of extra hands to help. I didnt have any real hangups with the body lift at all except for the fact that it takes a lotta patience to work the new radiator supports up front in. But then again I dont think all kits come with them anyways. Motor mounts were the annoying part for me.

Motor mounts sucked butt on my as well. I did the JKS BL & MML at the same time. You may need a long screw driver or something of that nature to line up the holes.

What is the advantage of the motor mount lift? just to align the motor with the raidator and hoses?

The BL is a breeze. Did mine by myself in about 45 minutes. Radiator drop was the hardest part. The MML will help with driveshaft angles if you ever go to a belly up crossmember or when used with adjustable control arms. If you install the MML it will eliminate the need to drop the radiator w/ the BL which is why most people do it all at once. I got my MML from Goferit offroad. Since your like an hour away let me know and you can swing by my place if you want some help

motor mount lift is just a good mod for several reasons...especially when done in conjunction with a body lift...

it'll take you 2 hours the first time...and probably 30-45 minutes if you ever do it again...the driver's side will drive you nuts until you get it figured out...

depending on how involved (i.e. what brand) the body lift is, it's a 45-minute to a couple hours job...some include grille supports, t-case bracket, radiator brackets, steering support bracket, and other little things...some are basically 11 pucks and longer bolts...
