99 chevy 1500 1ton

You should be a little more clear, are you meaning swap the IFS for the 3/4-1 ton AAM 9.25 IFS? Or to a solid axle one ton?

Mine is the only one I've ever seen in person. Still haven't seen THAT many of them on the internet. Most guys that do them are sky high with 38s or bigger. Since the only company that made a ready to go SAS kit has sold out, you'll be on your own for making it work, but the basics aren't too complicated.

The crappiest part of it to me is having to use a 78-79 Ford 60 since the frames are only 37" wide. 88-98 trucks can use the wider Ford axle or even a GM since there is room under those for a passenger drop transfer case. No room under these trucks, unless you make room. Then you'd still have to find a passenger drop, GM compatible transfer case with a VSS for the speedo and rear ABS. I suppose if you wanted to go really high up with it, you could mount the hangers under the frame rails...
