99 Ram 3500

Was 99 a bad year? I was reading up on the 53 block. How would I check which casting it was? What do you guys think?

Get under the truck with a light and check for the 53 stamping, I've got a non-53 '99 and I have no problems specific to 1999 model year just typical 2nd Gen. problems. Problems to check may include front hubs, auto trans, and fuel pressure which relates back to the common problem surrounding the injection pump on the 24valve trucks.

These are just a few things I have found over the past several months that I have delt with.
