UGH. still cant fix it. The only code it throws is p0172 system bank 1 too rich. and believe me it is running RICH. the exhaust drops a couple black wet drops when its running or you rev it up. sometimes it starts, sometimes it just wont turn over at all. then when it does get running.. itll be fine for 1-2 mins idleing and randomly shut off.

fuel pressure is good, tps is good, crankshaft position sensor is good, MAP is good, spark plugs are good...

anyone!?! :confused::confused:

even though the ones on it are only a few months old?

i tried unplugging the first 02 sensor and jeep still doesnt start.

You didn't put any grease or anything like that on the O2 sensor did you? The electrical connector is actually where the O2 sensor takes in fresh air to compare the exhaust to.

My subscription to alldatadiy.com for my 2000 TJ says this:
Possible causes
Coolant sensor calibration
Engine mechanical problem
Fuel pressure out of specification
Upstream O2 sensor heater
Fuel system rich or lean intermittent defect

nope i didnt put any grease on it..

Check your grounds. A lose or broken ground can cause weird stuff to happen. How long has it been doing the not starting and cutting off.

its been running rich since i got it.. but the shutting off randomly just started last week. grounds all appear to be good...

Fuel injector stuck open?

you said the fuel pressure is good

did you check it with a gauge? and if so how much pressure does it have? should be over 40 psi dont have the exact # in frt. of me but if it is not aleast that I would be starting there first.

Check your battery. Sometimes in Jeeps, a low battery/bad battery cable can cause these types of problems. In my Grand Cherokee, this problem was an occasional nuisance. It would not start and the gauges would peg and then go back to zero. I always though it was a fuel problem and turns out it was a battery.
