 So heres the problem, sometimes when I hit my left signal, both rears will flash. But only the left front flashes. Its driving me crazy, I just took both taillights off and checked for shorts but everything looks fine. Its just weird to me that it will do it SOMETIMES and not all the time. I would think if it were a wiring issue, it would always happen. It usually does it the first time I use my left signal after cranking the jeep. I would say 1 out of 10 times I turn my left signal on they both flash. The right signals do not have this issue and my hazards work fine. What could be going on to where its only happening a fraction of the time. Flasher? the signal switch? Any input would be great or if anyone else has had this problem, please let me know how you resolved it. Thanks.

think its probably the flasher. when they start goin bad they do crazy things for some reason... from my experience

Couldnt be, I topped it off the same day i replaced the radiator in my '59 volkswagen bus. :flipoff2:

is it a diesel? did you check the spark plugs? they may be fouled.

But on a serious note, I just replaced the flasher with a Tridon EP27 and its still doing the same thing. I also checked my trailor wiring harness and wiring inside the back plastic behind the spare tire cant find anywhere that it could be grounding out. I looked around the steering column and from what i could see, everything looked ok. It actually is worse now that i messed around with everything. I would say it went from happening every 1 out of 10 times to 5 out of 10 now. i checked the bulb and all the wiring behind the tailight and nothing looks burnt or exposed.

sounds like it could be in the stalk or the switch to turn on your flashers on the column. I occasionally have issues with my 98, and did with my old 99 as well. I think its inside the column. My 91 xj had a bare wire inside the turn signal stalk. When i was on the interstate and using cruise control, if i put on my left turn signal, my cruise would turn off.

Im thinking its in the column as well, were you able to repair it or just replace? i had the shroud off the steering column yesterday and it seemed like if i messed around with the wires coming out of the switch itself, it would stop for a little while.
