I need a good, durable queen air mattress. Not some store brand POS that a pine needle could puncture. This is for vehicle camping, not backpacking.

Any suggestions??

I just got the Coleman special from Wal-Mart. The only time I've had an issue is when my buddy had a few beers and passed out on it and his belt buckle poked a hole in it. Pretty tough otherwise.

I have a Coleman one that I used a ton back in the day. I always took good care of it, and was careful with it, and have never had a problem out of it.

Negative, I just threw 3 of those and 1 ozark trail away. I would think I could have bought an awesome air mattress for what I had in the 4 of those.

not that I want to know what you did to "ruin" those mattresses but I'm not too kind to my stuff and I never had an issue. Do you practive knife juggling in your tent?

You can keep the cheapies alive if you are careful. I used one a long time and laid a thick blanket down, and then one over it. Just make sure that you don't have it creased, they don't like to be bent.

Another option is some of that thick dense foam. It rolls up and stores pretty good.

I've got an Aerobed from REI. Kinda pricey, but I've been using it regularly for 2 years with no issues at all, and I'm pretty rough on things.

I got the cheapy Osark Trail Double thick mattress queen size from wal mart.$29.88 and I have had it two years with lots of trips to Uwharrie and other campsites.I am a big dude,6foot4 and go about 275 and I don't push through and feel the ground like I have in the past with the single mattress ones.

Get a real Aerobed. Bed Bath & Beyond has 15% off coupons all the time. I've found them on sale for as low as $40 for queen sized ones.

I've had a ton of these things too. The Big Lots one leaked from day 1. As did the Coleman one I bought at Wal-Mart on a trip when I forgot to bring my Aerobed. I woke up with my butt and shoulders on the ground and took it right back where it came from. The Eddie Bauer one lasted for quite a while, but it required batteries and eventually started leaking. After buying an Aerobed I won't buy anything else. I probably slept on my first one 70+ times before it started getting holes (I was couchsurfing for a few months). I patched a couple, but it just got bad quick. Now I'm on #2 and it's still doing good. I also picked up a couple for when we have too many people at the lake house and they're both holding up well.

If anyone needs Bed Bath and Beyond Coupons,my wife works there and I have a pile of 20% off coupons that we are always giving away...

If you are an REI member and it gets a hole in it you can take bit back. REI has a no questions asked return policy for members.

do not get one with intergrated pump in the mattress. While it sounds nice having everything in one and not having to keep track of a pump, it is a pain in the butt to deal with if anything goes wrong with the pump.

In order for that to work, you've got to be absolutely fucking shameless. It's not a "no questions asked" return policy... it's a "they're going to try like hell to guilt you into not trying to return this thing that you bought and broke" policy.

Roger that Shawn. That probably has something to do with the prices being so high. They have good sales occasionally. Rarely can I find a regular priced item that isnt less at another outfitter.

Honestly ive never found one that'll hold my 230lbs and someone else without it losing air within on sleeping so i got two mattresses from a popup camper that you can roll up and use those they store easily and somewhat small for queen size might work out for ya!

I've got an Eddie Bauer (Not sure who makes it). It's got a battery pump built in the side of it. Doesn't leak at all. It was purchased in 1999. The pump isn't very impressive, but it works every time! I'd like to find another like it.

I've taken stuff back to REI plenty of times. Never had an issue. A lot of friends have done the same thing. Maybe were all just shameless...
