Found this referenced on another forum, got a copy thru our library...wife gave me my own copy today.

"Design of Weldments" by Omar Blodgett

This is a 1963 book, but is chock-full of relevant info, formulas, and design ideas. A lot of it is relating to design and construction of big industrial machines, but much transfers over to small-scale projects.

It's still in print, and a hardcover was only $15 from Lincoln Electric. (Or...you can go to ebay, or any number of internet bookstores, and pay over a hundred for the same thing.)

Well worth the $15 if you weld and fabricate. If you make boogerwelds and call it good, well, nevermind.
