I've been looking at various place for camping, with and without amenities, while doing a google flight down NC Highway12 on Hatteras, just south of Salvo NC there is what appears to be an abandon ( or least closed ) campground.
Anyone know the whys and hows of this place ?
the north end still appears to be used as a day use area, but the south end where all the campsites are appears to be overgrown now ( bing maps shows better close in images than google )
