When the wife and I did our quarterly deep cleaning of the house the other week we again noticed a dusty ring around the heat/ac vents in our carpeted rooms. The rings are black and will not vacuum up...carpet cleaner will clean it with lots of scrubbing.
We had noticed before that the sheers (curtains) in the baby's room were very "dusty" at the bottom.
We changed filters to a much better one (according to what I could find online) thinking that the cheaper filters may be the culprit.
Well, the dusty rings are back. Less than 3 weeks from when we cleaned them up, changed the filter, etc...its back.
We are concerned that there must be something wrong with the heat/ac.
The dusty ring looks like soot to me after really cehcking it out.
Any thoughts on what it may be?
BTW, we built the house less than 3 years ago and its an electric unit (no gas/oil heat).
