Alright so after frying most of the electronics in the truck, it started acting up today: Speedometer quit working, odometer quit working, but would come back after 20 odd seconds of driving. I already figured Id be replacing the alternator, and since I dont trust a lot of the mechanics in Boone (no offense, just been bullshitted one too many times) Im heading down the mountain in the morning to get it taken care of.

Any cheapish/reliable shops in hickory, or should I just do it myself?

It's really easy to do, but if ya want, Ron's Automotive on Highland Ave. is top notch! Try to get there early, say 8:00 AM.

fuse on the way out maybe?

I think in the end...hooking up jumper cables backwards is just a generally bad idea..

It really was, guess a lesson was learned

I have checked all the fuses visually and with a fuse checker, Im starting on checking current in wires next to see if something short circuited
