what's your opinion on these? im thinking of getting a set of 4. 2inch all the way around. i need my width just a little wider. keep in mind i drive my rig on the street and wheel it pretty hard. it has 1 ton axles and 42" tires.
im running re-centered hummer wheels . i would rather sell the wheels.

Been running them for years, never a single loose lug. Try some searches.

I just put 2" on the front of my YJ. Got em from Trail Sport $60/pr, $12.50 shipping. Mine are 5 lug, 8 lug are $89./pr

I ran 1.25" spacers from Spidertrax for 2 yrs with no problems, they were pricey though.

Bought 2 pr of 1.5" for my comanche from OffroadOverstock, same price as Trail Sport, but they don't come with lugnuts.

shop around for a while I have seen em from $25 a set used to $500 a set new

PS man your wheels are kick-A$$ but are out of my budget:beer:

I bought some 8 lug spacers from wheelspacers.com. ran them for years with no problems but a little pricy at $400.00 for a set of 4 including shipping. I agree the wheels look KICK A$$

While we are on this post....................Im 4 inches wider up front than I am in the rear.......and I wanna run 2 inch spacers in the rear to make it match, but Im already running 2.5" BS wheels, and since its my DD, Im a little nervous about the effective backspacing Ill have with the spacers and wheels..........yall think 1.5" would be any better on the bearings?

Josh

thanks to all. ive seen the sets on ebay. i can pick up a set of 2 for around $100.00 . ill need 2 sets. i appreciate the input.

hardtaco , i think you need to figure it out to where you are about 1 " to 2" wider in the front. from what i hear you dont want it to perfectly match on both ends.

Well factory its almost dead nuts even, right now(being 4 inches wider up front) it just looks weird...lol. I was sitting at a stoplight not to long ago and some old black dude in his cheby with a tre-fitty screamed out of his window "yo truck is crookeds on da chassis!". I had to explain to him how it was wider up front and he still did not get it. I may try the 1.5" spacers, that will put me an inch wider up front, and see how that works. That will also be a little easier on the bearings.

Josh

Josh - I'd leave it alone unless you need the width. 2.5" BS is already PLENTY hard on those bearings...

Not to mention, it'll leave your brakes almost fully exposed.

HMMMM.... you need two sets. $100 bucks a pop.

You can order 4 steel wheels w/ custom backspacing from Summit for less than that including s&h.

I'd be real nervous about doing that. If I were in your shoes, I would probably swap the rear axle out for something that matches the front. Maybe a 9" out of an early Bronco? Not sure about that, but it is what I would look at first. What is the WMS of your front axle?

Front axle is 64", rear axle is 60". No way im getting rid of my 8.4 taco rear.......i love it to much. Strong as heck, and its already somewhat built. I think im gonna just get 4 inch bs wheels, then run 1.5 inch spacers in the rear, which will put me only an inch wider up front, and leave me with 2.5 inches of effective backspacing in the rear, which is what I have now, and is doing fine.

Thanks for the suggestion though! If I ever did a swap it would be a t-100 rear, since it will accept my 3rd, and be around 64-65 inches wide.

I ran spacers for 20 or 30k miles on the front of mine, no problems. I always kept an eye on the lugnuts though. The initial seating is the most important, after that they were really pretty maintenance free. Mine were an experiment of sorts though, as they were a 2" spacer which integrated a 5x4.5 to 8x6.5 adapter. Add to that I made them myself and it was really my first time in a machine shop, and the first things I engineered myself. I guess my point is that if those worked, you should be fine with some simple spacers.
