Amber alert

DON'T LEAVE YOUR KIDS ALONE IN CARS.

Assuming the kid was secured in a car seat, it would have taken 3 times as long to take her out and put her back as it did to go into the store.

Would you expect someone to take their kid out at a walk up ATM?

I mean, if she was shopping at the mall, that's one thing...

Nope, because the kid would still be in full view assuming the ATM was outside. If you had to walk in the bank to make a withdraw, YES!

A quandry I have come across many times. usually If the is not sleeping, I'll take her in with me, or justnot go and wait till later.

There are a few times when I have, in my full view, doors locked and keys in my pocket, and NEVER if there was anyone standing around or in a strange area.

It is illegal to leave your keys in a running car as it is, let alone an unattended child.

The only time I've left a kid, nephew, in my running car, was when my rottweiler was sitting right next to him, and the doors were locked. I always keep an xtra set of keys in the car.

When you live in a rural "safe" area, it's easy to get complacient about things

I have a couple times left the kid(s) inthe car while running in to a store but definitely in full view.

Usually when sleeping.

And at least once with vehicle running and locked (took remote off keychain) because daughter was sleeping and it was in the teens, just seemed wrong to turn the heat off...

But x2 on the rural area, I am real bad about stuff around home and home is growing up fast

Just Thank GOD the child was found unharmed
