I pulled the axles out of my 77 cj5 to install wide tracks. The narrow tracks had one piece axles. I checked the code on the narrow track axle and it's an (A) which should be 3.54. I checked it by turning the axle hub and it comes out to less than 2-1.

Does any body know if they make a gear ratio that high and what it may be?

I have a set of running gears out of a 1976 cj5 that came out the same way I ended up pulling the cover and counting the teeth it was 3.54 and came out 2-1 every way I tried to count rotation. I know your pains When mine came out 2-1 I was ready to throw them on a load of junk, but I couldn't find any gears that high in any cj guides or forums. I'm glad I went back and pulled the covers to check.

If one wheel was turning, and the other was not, it will give you a gear ratio that is numerically half of what it actually is. 3.54 when turning one wheel only would work out to about 1.75. Both wheels have to turn at the same time to calculate it.

Your right that was exactly what we were getting when turned it. Should have posted before! Well I still got the One piece axles out of it but I wish I would have took the whole axle for a direct bolt in.
