amc360 to np435 tranny clutch problem

ok so i got the advance adapters clutch kit for my setup using a T176 bellhousing off a 304 everything went together as it should but, i cant get the clutch to disengage. i thought i just didnt have enough throw on the rod so i made a new longer one and i went ahead and maxed it out. tried to push down the pedal and i actually had to pull against the wheel and my ass was off the seat to get it down. still didnt disengage and ended up bending the piece bolted to the bellhousing hoding the zbar in place so what the hell is wrong with my clutch? i know it went together right. could i need a different throwout bearing. i used the one included with the advance adapters kit.

if you find out why you let me know. my clutch takes the strength of a mule to disengage and I don't know why I recently broke my pull style slave because the amount of force needed to move the fork was ludicrous.
