VWs have the strangest electrical problems. I had a friend who owned a Jetta and I asked him how he liked his car. He said he loved it other than living in constant fear that it would erupt into flames at any moment. :lol:
 
I like my jetta decent gas mileage decent handling but I'm in constant worry of it not starting again. For awhile when my mom had it the damn thing would run great for days then it wouldn't start threw codes, She threw so many parts at it wasn't even funny car sat for 2-3 weeks until I got home from Florida I just started one day & It's been running great for almost 2 months now that I mention this it wont start in the am. I also love the windows that roll down when your trying to roll them up car locking itself with you in car & the alarm that will go off randomly.
 
Sounds like your typical German car. German electronics SUCK! I deal with them every day and I still maintain if BMW bought Japanese electronics, they'd have a car no one could touch. Handles like a bmer and is reliable as a Lexus.
