ANOTHER 97 TJ Question Subject: TPS

Ok, this TJ has the 2.5 4banger, has anyone replaced the TPS on one of these engines? Just wondering how much of a bitch it is, and if its just a bolt on or one you have to adjust with the multimeter?

it's a 3 minute swap...just a bolt-on right on the throttle body...

here's a pic of the I6...but yours will be similar...

probably just two torx bit screws...

nothing to adjust...

now the 4.0 is a direct swap for a 2.5 tb right?

i think a buddy of mine put a 4.0 TB on his with the 4.0 Injectors

I dont know about the injectors but you can definately bolt on the 4.0 throttle body

but you have to do something to the injectors or the fuel air mix would be off right?

when i did the 4.0 throttle body on my 2.5 i had to swap the 2.5 sensors off of my stock tb onto the 4.0 throttle body. works great.

The torx bits are the security ones that have the post in the middle. Make sure you have a set before you start.
