I have a friend that needs his rear diff looked into. He lives in Mooresville.

Recently he had 4.11's put in his GM 10-bolt. This is an 06 2wd blown 4 door chevy silverado. All was good until he hit 80mph, then he said it started roaring. He needs to know if the gears are ok or just installed wrong. Driving below 80mph all works well, it's only over 80 that he's having trouble.

Would probably need this done this weekend, or next week. I was trying to remember the names of a couple local shops but my memory fails me.

Someone give me some contact info for some people he can call. Thanks.

I can check it out. Im in Dallas. 80mph and over could likely be a tire or driveshaft issues. Gear problems typically manifest at lower speeds, but doesn't mean its not possible.

I recently had to have the R&P replaced in my 2005 Dodge 3500. I believe the previous owner must had run it too low on fluid. It would begin a faint whine @ 62mph and get much louder and higher pitched up until around 77 mph then go away. I got to see the bad pattern and it was really bad. The last R&P I had replaced was in my Toyota. Needless to say, I could not believe how expense the parts were for my 11.5" AAM axle in the Dodge.

I had it replaced @ Rides in Conover and they did a great job. It is now silent.
