Opinions about lockers are just like butt holes, I know, but lets discuss again. :D

I am thinking about putting an aussie in my front waggy 44 and my rear 8.8 in my ZJ. I will be running 35" tires. It is not a DD, but it does get driven on the road. Whatcha think?

I wouldn't hesitate to run one in the rear. Does the waggy D44 have locking hubs? If so I'd put one in the front too.

The front 44 will have locking hubs in it.

Yeah you should be fine.

I ran a Powertrax by Richmond in the front and a Lockrite in the rear and had no issues, There was some "pushing" if turning sharp at a light with your foot on the skinny pedal. But not bad. Easy to get used to.

I still run the Powertrax (Highly Impressed with it) in the front and a Factory LS in the 8.8 (Since the D35 kicked the bucket) I will put a assuie in the 8.8 when the money is right.

Looks like Aussie front and rear it is! thanks guys!

is anyone running 36"+ tires with a aussie? im just wondering how they hold up to big tires, hard rocks, and a heavy foot!

I have a question about the powertrax. I've been looking on-line for the past few days and have found a powertrax lock right locker with and without the cross shaft. Now do you need the cross shaft and what does it do?

I'm not sure how long anything else is going to hold up under those conditions. But I'm sure the aussie will last as long as the driveshaft, axle shafts, and u-joints.

I am most certain I have the factory cross shaft in mine, How I understand it is the other shaft is an upgraded higher strength shaft. I have wheeled mine hard for years with out issue. Broke the rear many times and have yet to have an issue with the front. (knock on wood)

check out the spartan locker, it is very similar to the aussie and it come with a stronger cross shaft. I believe that it is made by yukon gear and you can pick one up at randy's ring and pinion

I've checked out the aussie and it looks to be a positive lock all the time is that true and is the powertrax the same way?

It is only when there is force applied to it from the drive shaft, so when your free wheeling it is unlocked.

The powertrax is supposed to unlock with less force.

Think of it as a ratchet.

19 patented differences between the aussie and lockrite
plus only one failure and that was because it missed heat treating.

I have installed both and was impressed with both, But out of the box i doubt I could tell the difference. Besides the springs there almost just a like.

Aussie had better instructions and stickers

Is there any local shops that sell either? I'm a firm believer in supporting the locals. Looks like the aussie is about $50 to $80 bucks cheaper and I like the positive lock aspect. I was thinking of welding the rear becuase I have some Extra's.

im will be putting a locker in a d60 pretty soon any ideas? i am not positive on spline count
