After reading the current thread about LEOs, I decided to post up what I witnessed the other day. I was at an stoplight in CLT and there was a stalled car in the intersection. It was raining like hell. A Char-Meck cop pulled up, turned on the blue lights, jumped out of his car and helped PUSH the stalled car through the intersection. Did I mention that it was pouring down rain? It was the kind of rain that will drench you in 10 seconds. I was impressed with what I saw. He didn't have to do what he did. He could have waited until he got a raincoat on, but he didn't. He could have just blocked the intersection until the other guy pushed the car to the other side of the road. That, to me, just seemed like a good samaritan act from Johnny Law. Kudos to the good cops out there.

Saw something like this a long time ago, about 2 years. I was driving back from the beach, had spent the weekend down there with my parents. My father is riding shotgun in my truck, we are speeding pretty good, fast lane just cruising at 80-85 easy. Trooper comes right up on me, passes me. Im thinkin damn that was crazy. About a mile further ahead I see him helping an elderly woman change a tire.
This is where it gets crazy, HE PASSES ME again about 15 minutes later. Didn't see him again, but slowed down because at this point I was freaking out. Impressed me though.

Few years ago a tire on my wife's car went flat on a hot summer day during rush hour. She was unable to get out of the left hand lane and ended up next to a guardrail with the rush hour traffic on her right. She had just reached for her cell to call me when she heard a knock on her window. A State Trooper was there. He changed the tire and then blocked traffic to let her merge out into traffic.

That is cool. Don't see that often enough.

There are some good cops out there.....the bad ones just hog the "spot-light".
