I am looking for a mini excavator and found a to good to be true deal on a Kubota KXO40. The company is Bain Farm Equipment. Says they are located in Dinwiddie, VA. Will ship for .60 mile, 10 day inspection with money back guarantee, 6 month warranty. Bank wire money, it is held until inspection is approved, then transaction is completed. I pay driver upon delivery. Every thing sounds kind of legit except the price of the machine that has 500 hrs it.
Anyone ever bought anything in this manner? I am 99.99% conveniences this is a scam. Do you all agree. Thanks?

If this is the one you're referring to, there is no way that isn't a scam.

I'm fixing to sell my old kx161-3s if that size machine fits your needs.

None of the listed items I looked at had the pics taken at the listed address, or even at the same place at all. At least two of them had other items in the background with phone numbers or websites in the midwest. At best it's some kind of broker/middleman, but I highly doubt that. I agree with @kaiser715, Dinwiddie is close enough I'd try to arrange a visit. I bet when you call/email to set one up the story falls apart.

If it were a legit company they'd take credit or cash, not only bank wire.

Thanks for all the conformations and reassurances.. lol I will see where it goes when I suggest I will just pick it up and pay in person. Also I agree if it is legit, there has to be some huge fees involved somewhere!

Its either a scam or their "fees" are 2-3x the purchase price. Everything on their page is around 1/4-1/3 of actual market value.

Most definitely a scam in one way or another. Steer clear of anything like that.
Pics are stolen from an auction site, that 2019 JD 3039 sold for 31000 in 2019. Domain was registered just one month ago. Website pics are stolen from BWS Equip - Quality Used Equipment

LOL! They actually called, broken English of course, wanted to know if I was ready to move forward. I said yes ( I am sure at this point he saw dollar signs haha), but stated I would just come and inspect and pay upon pickup. (Dollars signs stated failing lol). He stated that they do not have that option. I said, of course you don’t, because it is a scam. He said, it is not to look up. I said I did, lol and here we are. I then ask him, would you personally send someone you don’t know $15k for something you could not go inspect first and hope they send it to you. Unexpectedly, he said no I would not, have a good day.
I will say folks go to the extreme to set up the scams. I wonder why Market place allows these?

Because policing it properly would take a ton of manpower and they don't want to pay for that.
