Anti theft

I got an 01 Excirsion with the 7.3 I replaced both batteries today and now the anti theft is on and won't disarm. At least that is what I am gathering. The theft light flashes when you try to turn the truck on and doesn't stop. When I put the batteries in the truck was unlocked and the kes were not in it.

Ideas?

Did you manually lock the door and unlock with a key? Thats how you have to turn some off with anti theft after a battery replacement. Ran into this with my dads Honda but I'm not sure on the Excursion.

I tried that.That doesn't work on the ford.

Disregard, I got it. I unhooked the batteries and made sure the truck was unlocked first. hooked batteries back up and it was good. She runs good now.
