Any other options for balancing tires?

I bought some 44" Gumbo Monster Mudders that where balanced by BBs. They where on 6 lug rims that I took to Galloways and traded in for 8 lug rims. Todd at Galloways told me that the tires where too old to pad balance and left the BBs in. I tried to drive with them and they get uncontrollable death wobble right around 25 mph. The tires are definitely old and have huge cuts or chucks missing in almost every lug. Is there any other options for balancing them? I'd like to be able to drive on the street with them.

If your rims are expendable, some big trucks also used antifreeze.

That being said, going that big of tire puts waaaaaay more stress on the front end, while the tires may be the root of your problem, I think they are simply exposing other weaknesses. Bushings, drag link, tie rods, etc., all in good shape?

Death Wobble isn't caused by unbalanced tires. Put a 1.5 shotglasses of BB's in each tire and it should fix the tire balancing problem. You have other problems if you get death wobble.

50/50 water antifreeze will smooth them out and will not harm your rims

False!

It has & will solely cause DW, though it's also attributed to other factors like loose/worn suspension & steering parts...

Ok, you got me. I was in a hurry when I posted that.

my 2 cents. make sure your toe is adjusted correctly. i was tyring to get rid of a bad case of DWs after going to a set of 39.5 iroks (nothing else changed). the DW was not there before on my 37s, but as soon as I changed tires it showed up. tie rod was bend slightly and i was toed in. fixed that after trying everything else and no trouble after about 200 miles at all speeds.
