Anybody have a pitman arm puller that works on a Ram 3500 box?

The two jaw puller that I've always used for Jeep Saginaw boxes won't fit it. The pitman arm puller from the AutoZone doesn't fit it...

The gap between the box and the arm is too small:

Anyone done this before and have one you know works? Willing to let me borrow it or break it loose for me? There's a beer or two in it for you.
 
I googled this, and it looks like the popular choices are to get a conical puller, or get a specialty puller with low profile puller jaws, or grind down the jaws of a regular puller to make them low profile. I vote conical, like the tknopp posted. Should be cheapest method if it's strong enough. Grinding down a cheapie 2-jaw may work, if there's enough material left to not shear off.

I always just split them with a 2.5" cutoff wheel. Of course if you plan to re-use it then disregard this message.

Hadn't thought of that; I am not reusing it, so it's an option.

I'm trying to get this done no later than Monday so ordering a tool isn't an option. I am thinking I might be able to weld up an adapter out of some scrap that I would be able to grab with the puller I have also.

I have the one I used on my 07 2500 when I put the lift on. You are welcome to borrow it. If I remember right I took and grounded the ends down small enough to fit.
 
NP. I Just cut at an angle to miss the seal and when it looks close smack it with a big chisel.

I have a snap on one like pictured by fabric8 that you could use. But, your time frame won't work. I'm out of town till Tuesday.

Thanks anyway. I just got it off actually. I went and borrowed @YotaOnRocks puller this morning and be damned if the sector shaft diameter was too large... So I just cut it off.
 
Well that's sucks. Was nice to meet you and put a face to another nc4x4 name.
