Anybody have experience doing the nutters bypass on jeep 4.2 carb?

I have a buddy that has a 4.2, he says that it idles up and down, and some other things. He did some research and found the nutters bypass. Anyone have any experience doing this? Did it help with performance, fuel economy, simplistic? Once again, I'm not doing this, a buddy was asking and I told him I'd ask around.

I have all the stuff to TBI this '81 CJ I just bought. This one seems to run good after it warms up. If he wants the carb off of this one he is welcome to it. Now I would prefer he nutter on it elsewhere tho...

I did it at the same time as the mc2100 carb swap on one of my CJs and it definitely helped with power and driveability, not sure I ever tracked fuel mileage on that thing.
