Kodak V1003 10MP Digital Camera

We have been talking about getting a new digital camera and today woot has a nice price for a refurbished model. I've looked up reviews online and about 1/2 like it and 1/2 don't. Just wondering if anyone on here uses this camera and what do you think?
 
Kodak's aren't bad. But they tend to have cheap optics, (plastic lens etc)
Since it's woot, the price is usually on point.
But for 100$ or so now days, I'd try and find a slightly older 5-7 mp model somewhere like overstock with a better lens.

But the kodak one will probably be fine. I'm just uppity. :D
 
Kodak makes a decent camera (my 6mp has a glass lens) but the easy share software is satans masterpiece.

I have had a Kodak for ?? years. Its old DCM 4600, 2 mp! Four years on the trail, dust and mud, being dropped, (case is currently cracked and the battery cover is taped on! LOL), ...Still takes great, Hi res pics!

Been a good, n' hearty, if not the most hi-tech, camera!:rolleyes:
 
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I got busy last night and didn't even make it back to the computer, so no new camera for me right now. I do like the idea of a camera <$100 so if it takes a hit on the trail, or my 2 year old gets it, it is not such a loss.
 
We're on our 2nd Kodak.....1st was beaten to death w/ the batteries held in w/ electrical tape & the new one (last Christmas) is great.

The software is crap IMHO......

Mat I have a Kodac not sure of modle, 2.1 MP or something close, with a dock for transfering pics and to charge the battery, has expanded memory and so on, I will let you have it for $50 We paid over $500 for it when we got it like 4 years ago.
 
If you want a good reliable camera with features and buttons that make sense, at a reasonable cost (under $200), look into the Panasonic Lumix series. I've got one, my fiancee has one, and my mom has one. Ive got DMC-FZ1 w/2MP and 12x Optical zoom. They have the newer model, I believe it's a TZ2 or something, but its 5MP and 10x Optical Zoom, and is much more compact than my FZ1. The nicest thing about the Panasonics is the lenses. They are made by Leica, and have very good optics and a very good image stabilization system.

Thanks Chip, but I don't NEED one right now, we have a Sony that is about 5 years old that still takes pics. It is more of a 'if we see a good deal, we may get it.'
 
I just got a Fugi Film J10 (funny I did not see the J10 till I got home)

8.1MP very easy to use. I likeit alot for about 179 with the case I bought.
