I know there's a Job Hook Ups post, and I've already posted this there...but I don't know how many people browse that thread regularly. I'm going to repost this here and hope that it gets a lot more views.

I can almost guarantee this will be a posting that a lot of you wish you either had the credentials, or lived close enough to make it worth your while.
In addition to my fulltime job at AT&T, I've been driving party buses for Ragin' Uptown for almost two years. One of the most entertaining part-time jobs you could possibly have...and the pay isn't too bad, it's just the hours that can be tough.

I've recently been put in charge of hiring and training. So, all you have to do is come through me for this job.

Requirements:
Class A or B CDL
P Endorsement
Clean MVR
DOT Medical Card (pretty easy to get if you don't already have a valid one)
basic customer service skills

It involves a lot of nights and weekends, and is definitely only part-time work. It's a 1099 type job, and cash tips are always possible. Most nights, it's just a good paying babysitting job.

The buses are housed on Catawba Ave in Cornelius (Exit 28 off I-77)...definitely something you'd want to consider when deciding on trying this out.

Anybody interested, send a PM or email me: greg@greghorton.com

Be sure to include a resume, or at least a brief description of your experience. More than one opening exists (looking to hire 5-10 drivers).

Thanks.
Greg

Don't have a CDL not to meantion I live to far away for the job. I just wanted to say it is cool your using this forum to try and help out fellow hobbiest with a job you available.

Just saying i find it funny i have my class A cdl and 9 years otr and you have to still take test and a driving test to get the P endorsment.

And no i have triplets and a 3 year old i watch ever day i dont want to babysit drunk grownups

but it is very cool that you are trying to help your fellow wheelers like already said

I used to drive the drunk bus... not a bad gig, especially so if you don't mind being up until late-30 on the weekends.

Of course, I'm too far away, and I need another job like a hole in my head. But I can vouch for it being a fun way to make some extra cash.

definitely agree...

although, I understand if you get the right instructor, in the right mood, on the right day...the written test is all it takes.

the hardest part of getting a P endorsement is finding somebody with a vehicle that requires one to take to the driving test...

I'll bring it back to the top for the weekend, then let it run its course...

as a little info, it's usually $15-$20/hr for the job itself, and my tips have ranged from $0 to $320 for a single run...with paychecks coming bi-weekly...

the first step of the hiring process is to do a ride-along (unpaid) with me, just to see if it's anything you're really interested in...so if anybody wants to just come see what it's about, let me know...
